A few weeks after his wife Ioana dies in a car accident, Alexandru is spending his forty second birthday alone and drunk at home when there is a knock at the door. The man outside is Sebastian, shy and younger than him, and he says he has been Ioana’s lover for the past five months. His request is a strange one: he expects Alexandru to help him carry the grief of this death. So the two men are left in the same room after the same woman, neither of them wanting the other there, and mourning turns into shared work. Andrei Cretulescu’s hundred and nineteen minute Romanian film describes the pain without separating it from the humour. Șerban Pavlu plays Alexandru and Radu Iacoban plays Sebastian, with Victor Rebengiuc and Ana Ularu in the cast. It was completed in 2018.
