Lia, a retired teacher in Georgia, sets out to keep a promise to her dead sister and find Tekla, the trans niece who left home years ago. The trail leads to Istanbul, and Lia arrives in a city she knows nothing about with her young neighbour Achi. There she meets Evrim, a lawyer working on trans rights, and comes closest to the person she is looking for while among people she has never met. Levan Akin builds it as a story about solidarity rather than about finding someone. The director of And Then We Danced keeps Istanbul from becoming a postcard.
