What Danny Deckchair Is About
Danny is a construction worker who is not happy with his life and gets by on practical jokes. When a holiday falls through he actually carries out the idea that occurs to him: he ties hundreds of helium balloons to a garden chair and takes off. He drifts over the town, comes down somewhere else entirely and builds a new life where nobody knows him, until the old one catches up. The idea is not invented: in 1982 an American rose over Los Angeles in a lawn chair tied to weather balloons.
