What Dark Figure of Crime Is About
Dark Figure of Crime draws loose inspiration from an episode of the real South Korean investigative program Unanswered, covering a real case in Busan where murders went unreported, no bodies were found, and no investigation was opened; it opened on October 3, 2018. It follows a killer imprisoned for his tenth murder who confesses to a detective that he actually killed seven more people, offering clues along the way. Who it's for: anyone curious about a Korean thriller loosely inspired by unverified murder cases from a real investigative program, built around a dangerous game between a detective and a confessing killer. Who it's not for: viewers wanting a straightforward true story adaptation, since the film draws loose inspiration rather than telling one specific case.
