Dark Horse

Allison, who has recently lost her mother, moves to a new town, falls in with the wrong crowd and is sentenced to community service at a local stable. The time she spends with the animals does her good, and then a road accident leaves both her and Jet, the horse she loves, disabled. The rest of the film runs on the effort of both to get back on their feet. David Hemmings directed, from a screenplay Janet Maclean wrote out of a story by Tab Hunter, who also co-produced and takes a small part. Ed Begley Jr., Mimi Rogers and Ari Meyers head the cast. The summary in the record mentions neither the mother’s death, nor the sentence, nor the accident; it says only that the girl has to go to a horse farm. It also gives the running time as 98 minutes where sources say 94.
