Death Is Called Engelchen

Pavel is one of the Czech partisans. These are the last days of the war. He is shot just as peace is declared. The bullet strikes his spine. He is lying in hospital. His consciousness comes and goes. Meanwhile his past runs through his mind. He remembers how he joined the underground. He remembers what happened to his comrades. For all of it he sees one name. The German commander is called Engelchen. Pavel wants to recover. There is a reason he wants it. However long it takes, he means to settle the account. Jan Kačer and Eva Poláková appear in the hundred and twenty seven minute film, a Czechoslovak production Elmar Klos and Ján Kadár finished in 1963.
