Diabolical - The Epstein Files

The documentary takes up the release of the Jeffrey Epstein files and the argument that broke out around it. The work is the first feature to come out of the newly formed documentary unit of an Australian news organisation. The reporter Grace Tobin talks with people close to the story while the files are being released. Among those who speak are two American legislators, Thomas Massie and Marjorie Taylor Greene. Epstein’s brother Mark also speaks; his own view is that the death was a murder. Journalists who worked on the investigation, lawyers, and survivors who campaigned for the files to be released are in the film as well. Its case is that the belief that all are equal before the law has been shaken; that assessment is the work’s own. The film was put together quickly, while the files were coming out. Justin Stevens’s seventy five minute film, a joint Australian and American production, was completed in 2026.
