Divorce Corp.

The documentary takes up the family courts in America. The position the film argues is this: that these courts run without oversight. According to the work, more money passes through the family courts than through all the other court systems combined. The film puts that figure above fifty billion dollars a year. That number and that judgement belong to the film itself. The account rests on a wide run of interviews. Divorce lawyers, mediators and judges speak. Politicians, litigants and journalists are in it as well. The work goes after custody evaluations and cases that drag on. It also lists the harms it says come out of them. Drew Pinsky and Gloria Allred appear, with Lynn Toler and Laura Wasser, in Joe Sorge’s American documentary of 2014, which runs eighty eight minutes.
