What Dogs Don't Wear Pants Is About
Years after watching his wife drown in front of him, Juha still has not recovered; inside the life he shares with his daughter he is emotionally absent. Meeting Mona, a dominatrix, by chance brings back feelings he assumed were gone and draws him into a world where pain and desire are tangled together. J-P Valkeapää treats the relationship neither as a sexual curiosity nor as a pathology, and finds humour in the moments where physical pain drowns out grief. Unsettling but calm, and an unusual film about mourning. Pekka Strang and Krista Kosonen lead.
