Evgeniy Evstigneev What Don't Leave Your Lovers Is About
The film is about a divorce. The couple who have decided to separate take the matter to court. But what they decided and what they feel are not the same thing. As the process goes on, both of them find out how much it hurts. The account moves back and forth between the courtroom and the inside of a home. The film shows divorce not as an event but as a long condition. A separation that does not end when the decision is made is the real subject. The seventy six minutes are given to a single relationship. Irina Alfyorova and Aleksandr Abdulov appear in Pavel Arsenov’s Soviet film, completed in 1980.
