Rick Pang is a champion competitive shooter who keeps modifying his pistols to perfect the double tap, the technique of putting two rounds through exactly the same hole. The trouble is that his search for precision does not stay on the paper target. The policeman who ends up chasing him comes out of the same sport and understands him far too well. Lo Chi-Leung's Hong Kong thriller is built around obsession rather than action, measuring the distance between a great marksman and a killer. Leslie Cheung, in one of the coldest roles of his final years, plays opposite Alex Fong.
