What The Bullet Vanishes Is About
At an arms factory near Shanghai a woman worker accused of stealing bullets is killed in a game of Russian roulette staged by the boss. Deaths then begin one after another in the factory: the victims have been shot but no bullets are found in them. Rumours of a curse spread among the workers. An inspector known for his strange methods and his hot headed young partner are sent to solve it. A detective story built like a locked room puzzle, set in Republican era China. The pair returned in a second film a few years later.
