Dulhe Raja

Raja runs a small eatery directly across from a five-star hotel, and he is the single greatest irritation in the life of Singhania, who owns the hotel. Singhania brings every bit of influence he has to bear on getting the man moved, and none of it works. Things get properly tangled once his daughter Kiran starts taking an interest in Raja. A suitor chasing a dowry enters the picture and the whole matter swells through a chain of misunderstandings. It is a typical Hindi comedy of the nineties: two and a half hours, a romance built on class difference, songs threaded through and a comic ensemble. What holds it up is Govinda's timing, with the Kader Khan and Johny Lever scenes working as sketches in their own right. Raveena Tandon's part takes up very little of the plot. This is a film you watch for what the performers do rather than for the story.
