What Duska Is About
An older film critic lives inside an order of his own. His days pass between cinema, writing and being alone. One day a visitor he was not expecting turns up at his door. The man settles into the house the moment he arrives and has no intention of leaving. Every habit the critic has is broken because of it. Something odd forms between them, moving between friendship and mere tolerance. The film tells this with little talk and long scenes. Somebody entering the life of a person who lives alone sits at the centre of the story. Sergey Makovetskiy and Gene Bervoets appear in Jos Stelling’s hundred and ten minute film, a coproduction of four countries, completed in 2007.
