Ears

A man wakes with a ringing in his ears. There is a note on the fridge: your friend Luigi has died, and by the way I took the car. The trouble is he cannot remember anyone called Luigi. He spends the day trying to work out both where the ringing came from and who Luigi was, and the search walks him through every piece of absurdity the city has to offer. Alessandro Aronadio shot it in black and white and leans deliberately into the absurd. A tragicomic day, and the kind of day after which nothing is the same. This is not the loud strain of Italian comedy but the quiet, uncomfortable one. Daniele Parisi leads.
