What El Revenge Is About
Fernando Fraiha’s first feature is a Brazilian road movie. Caco is preparing to propose when he finds his girlfriend in bed with an Argentine, and his best friend Vadão puts him into an orange Opala 72 and drives him to Buenos Aires. The stated plan is to restore his honour by sleeping with as many women as possible, and the further the trip goes the less clear it becomes whose problem the plan is actually solving. The comedy comes out of the absurdity of the insistence rather than out of the conquests. It premiered at the Rio festival and won best new director at the Brooklyn Film Festival. Felipe Rocha and Daniel Furlan play the two friends.
