What Eye for an Eye 2 Is About
Cheng Xiazi, a blind swordsman, happens to save a boy whose family has been wiped out, Zhang Xiaoyu. The boy will not leave, so the man reluctantly keeps him and starts teaching him to fight. All Xiaoyu is doing is waiting for the right moment to take his revenge. The blind hero is one of the oldest devices the genre has, tried over and over since Zatoichi, and it is what carries this series too. Xie Miao plays the swordsman, which is an extra pleasure for anyone who watched him as a child actor beside Jet Li in the nineties. It is short, it does not pad, and it makes no grand claims for itself.
