What Falling Is About
Anton, a young musician who studied in Switzerland and came back without meeting what was expected of him, settles in the village with his grandfather after treatment for alcohol dependence near Kyiv. The old man, strict in his principles, wants to keep him away from the city. One day Anton meets Katya, who is also looking for her own way and is about to leave for Berlin with her boyfriend, a German photojournalist. A closeness of a few days grows between them, and neither of them knows what to do with it. The film is about a generation after Maidan looking for a place of its own. Maryna Stepanska’s hundred and five minute Ukrainian film was completed in 2017.
