What Florida Is About
Claude, now eighty, is still an imposing and authoritarian man, but his lapses of memory and confusion are growing more frequent, and he flatly refuses to admit anything is wrong. His eldest daughter Carole fights a wearing daily battle to keep him from being left alone. Then Claude suddenly decides to go to Florida, and what lies behind that wish becomes the real question. One connection is missing from our record: the film is a free adaptation of Florian Zeller's play Le Pere, the text that years later won Anthony Hopkins an Oscar.
