Follies

Eric K. Boulianne's 2026 Quebec film follows a relationship of sixteen years. François and Julie decide to open it. The decision comes easily and the practice does not. They have two children, and each new experience brings something home; the narrative punishes no one and shows how what goes unsaid accumulates. The director also takes the lead. The dialogue is natural and the scenes long. The tone is close to comedy while taking the subject seriously. Who it's for: those who like Quebec cinema and relationship comedy. Who it's not for: viewers uncomfortable with explicit sexuality; the film takes it up directly.
