What For Lovers Only Is About

Michael Polish shot this small film in black and white, and it opens with an American photographer on assignment in Paris running into an old flame. The two of them set off across France together and the film stays largely inside those few days: meals, hotels, drives, what gets said and what does not. The production was tiny, made with what amounts to a two person crew, which gives it the feel of something observed rather than staged. Whether the relationship has any future stays open right to the end. Stana Katic and Mark Polish, who also wrote it, are the leads. It is short, quiet and deliberately without incident.
