Four Hearts

At the centre of the account are two sisters. Galina teaches mathematics. She is serious and orderly. Her sister Shurochka is a student. She is lighter and more scattered. The two of them are nothing alike. When summer comes they leave the city. The place is a country retreat near Moscow. One of them is to prepare for a resit. The other is to teach mathematics to soldiers. Confusions begin before long. One misunderstanding follows another. Both of them are after the same thing. Valentina Serova and Evgeniy Samoylov take the leads, with Lyudmila Tselikovskaya also in the cast, in Konstantin Yudin’s Soviet film of 1944.
