Frenzy

Kadir is released on parole after twenty years in prison. The condition is simple: he will inform. Istanbul is in the middle of political violence and the police tighten their measures by the day. Kadir works as a rubbish collector, going through the bins of the shantytowns for bomb-making material. In those same streets he finds his brother Ahmet, who works for the city on the crew that culls stray dogs. Kadir wants to be close to him; Ahmet keeps his distance. That distance sends Kadir into building conspiracies of his own. Emin Alper's film won the Special Jury Prize at Venice. Mehmet Özgür plays Kadir and Berkay Ateş plays Ahmet. It is a film about how suspicion isolates a person.
