Fresh Air

Viola works in the toilets of the Budapest metro. The work is hard and nobody sees it. She comes home smelling of air freshener. Her daughter Angela is at high school. She wants to be a fashion designer. She is ashamed of her mother’s job. Conversation between them has almost run out. They live side by side in the same flat and stay apart. They have one thing in common. They never miss the television series they both love. For that half hour they sit next to each other. The film tells these two lives slowly. It promises no rescue and it does not prettify the hardship. Ágnes Kocsis won a prize for this first feature. Izabella Hegyi and Júlia Nyakó appear in the hundred and nine minute film, a Hungarian production Andrea Roberti and Ágnes Kocsis finished in 2006.
