Friday Night Plan

Vatsal Neelakantan's 2023 Indian film covers one night while the boys' mother is away on business. Two brothers who bicker constantly decide to slip out to the biggest party of the year. The film has a single-night structure. The plan falls apart in stages and the brothers are forced to know each other again; the narrative follows the teen comedy form and threads growing up without a father through it. Babil Khan leads, with Juhi Chawla as the mother. The tone is light and free of violence, and the close arrives at an emotional reconciliation. Who it's for: those who like teen comedy and stories about siblings. Who it's not for: viewers wanting an unpredictable plot; the film follows a familiar shape.
