Garm Hava

The film is set in India after Partition. At its centre is a Muslim businessman. His family is with him. The country was once their own. But after Partition things change. Now they have to struggle to hold on to their rights. They lose trust in business life. Relations with neighbours break down just as much. The family is caught between staying and leaving. Some of its members cross to the other side of the border. The account is built on that splitting apart. A.K. Hangal and Gita Siddharth take the leads, with Jamal Hashmi and Shaukat Azmi also in the cast, in M.S. Sathyu’s Urdu film of 1973.
