Mogul Mowgli

Zed is a rapper of Pakistani background living in London. He has worked for years and is close to his first world tour. Just then a severe autoimmune illness puts him on the floor; his muscles fail and he cannot perform. The tour is cancelled and he has to move back in with his family. In the days that pass in a hospital room and in his father's house, the past comes at him: what the family went through at Partition, the distance between him and his father, his own identity. Bassam Tariq directs, with Riz Ahmed as Zed; the two of them wrote it together. It screened in Berlin and won the FIPRESCI prize there. It was nominated for the BAFTA for outstanding British film.
