Gas Food Lodging is written and directed by Allison Anders, made on a budget of 1.3 million dollars and grossing 1.3 million. It premiered at Sundance in January 1992, where it was nominated for the Grand Jury Prize, and was also nominated for the Golden Bear at that year's Berlinale.
