What Georg Is About
The film tells the life of the Estonian singer Georg Ots. He was a baritone. He had started out working as an engineer. The war years took him onto another road. In Yaroslavl he found himself in music. His voice was heard before long. He became a name known everywhere in the Soviet Union. The country was trying to come out of the ruin of the war. People found something to hold on to in his voice. The film shows the life behind that fame. His marriages and his loves are inside the account. Jealousy and the weight of celebrity are there as well. In making himself, the man wears himself down. What his second wife Asta said was used in the telling. Marko Matvere and Anastasiya Makeeva appear in the hundred and four minute film, a Russian, Estonian and Finnish co-production Peeter Simm finished in 2007.
