Jara watches the security cameras on the night shift at a supermarket in Montevideo: a big, silent man who talks to nobody. On one of the monitors he sees Julia, who cleans there, and from that day his whole shift goes on watching her. Then he starts following her after work, to the cinema, to the beach, as far as a date with another man. Adrián Biniez neither romanticises this nor turns it into thriller material. He keeps the man's loneliness and the discomfort of what he is doing in the same frame. The Uruguayan film won the grand jury prize and the first feature award at the 2009 Berlinale.
