What Girl You Know It's True Is About
The story of Milli Vanilli. The German producer Frank Farian needed faces to sing the records he had built in the studio, and found two dancers in Munich: Rob Pilatus and Fab Morvan. They went on stage, the singles travelled the world, the awards came. The only problem was that they were not singing. When the truth came out their careers ended overnight and the award was taken back. The film argues the responsibility was not the two young men's alone, and that the system using them had its share. Rob's later years and his death in 1998 are part of it.
