Glen Campbell: I'll Be Me

Glen Campbell was diagnosed with Alzheimer's in 2011. Rather than hide it he said so publicly and went out on a farewell tour. It was planned for five weeks; it ran a year and a half and more than a hundred and fifty shows. The documentary follows that tour. On stage Campbell still plays the guitar faultlessly but cannot remember the name of the song, says the same sentence twice, knows his daughter and not his grandchild. His children play in the band beside him, and nobody knows what he will lose or when. James Keach directs; a hundred and sixteen minutes, with the songwriter Jimmy Webb, Vince Gill, Brad Paisley and The Edge among those speaking. Campbell died in 2017. I'm Not Gonna Miss You, written for the film, was nominated for an Oscar.
