God's Not Dead: We The People

Reverend Dave is working with a group of Christian families. The families do not send their children to school; they teach at home and use their own curriculum. A local education official comes to inspect and finds shortcomings in her report. The process grows and the matter is taken to Washington. The families appear before a congressional committee. Dave goes with them and prepares the defence. The other side is at the committee too; the narrative brings the two sets of speeches face to face. Vance Null directs. David A. R. White, Isaiah Washington, William Forsythe and Antonio Sabàto Jr. are in the cast. It is an American production. The film is the fourth link in the series; the earlier ones set a similar argument on the ground of the university, the church and the school. It was shown in cinemas in a limited number of screenings and distributed through that kind of event release. The matter it treats is the right to home education; the film builds it as a question of religious freedom. The narrative presents its argument in the committee section and the characters make speeches directly. It was openly made for a particular audience and does not hide it. The narrative draws the other side as one dimensional and does not make the argument a real argument. Its limit is production; the acting and the script are weak, the plot strained and the resolution easy. Who it is for: viewers who like American productions grounded in faith and followers of the series. Who it is not for: it is one directional, the argument didactic, and weak as cinema.
