What The Shadowless Is About
A barber tired of his tangled life in Istanbul wants to be both here and far away, and one day he simply goes. He settles in a small village called Golgesizler, rents the shop of Nuri, the village barber who disappeared years ago, and starts working. In time he notices that people in the village are vanishing one by one; those who go do not come back and leave no trace behind. The account moves among twenty two characters, the main ones disappear, and roles that looked minor move to the centre of the story. The film was adapted from the novel by Hasan Ali Toptas. Selcuk Yontem and Taner Birsel appear in Umit Unal’s ninety four minute film.
