Goliath

A lawyer working to get an agricultural chemical banned, a woman who has fallen ill, and the industry's lobbyist stand at three separate ends of the same case. All three are doing their jobs. The film delays taking sides and watches the lobbyist as a person too; the narrative's real subject is not who is right but how fast the system moves. The scientific argument is given without simplification. Frederic Tellier directed, with Gilles Lellouche, Pierre Niney and Emmanuelle Bercot. It draws on real French pesticide litigation.
