Good Night

Mohan works in IT, is shy and short on confidence. He genuinely falls for Anu, whom he meets through an arranged introduction, and they marry. He has hidden one thing: he snores, loudly enough to shake the walls. Anu cannot sleep from the first night. As the problem grows it affects the marriage, his work and her health in turn. What is funny stops being funny quickly. Vinayak Chandrasekaran takes a small physical problem and enlarges it through a relationship. The narrative is interested in shame: everything gets worse because Mohan chooses to conceal the problem rather than admit it. The film does not blame him and does not let him off either. Manikandan plays Mohan and Meetha Raghunath plays Anu. The register moves between comedy and drama throughout. Who it's for: Viewers who like small-scale Tamil drama, everyday stories of marriage, and warm-toned comedy. Who it's not for: It circles a single problem and starts to repeat in the second half. The emotional resolution is also familiar.
