Guard Me, My Talisman

The account is set in Boldino. A Pushkin poetry festival is being held there. Liosha and his wife Tania have come for it. The two are walking in the forest. A man appears from among the trees. He puts a question to them about Pushkin. The question is a very particular one. The man is called Klimov. From that day on Klimov does not leave the couple’s side. Little by little he works his way between them. Liosha is unsettled by it. The jealousy grows. At the festival Pushkin’s works are staged. Those attending argue about the poetry. Oleg Yankovskiy and Tatyana Drubich take the leads, with Aleksandr Abdulov and Bulat Okudzhava also in the cast, in Roman Balayan’s Soviet film of 1986.
