What Gun Runners Is About
Julius Arile and Robert Matanda lived in northern Kenya. For years they were part of armed bands. Those bands spread fear through the countryside. One day the two of them disappeared. People assumed they were dead or had been arrested. In fact they had put down their rifles. They took up running shoes instead. They set out to become marathon runners. The years of running from the police had built their endurance. They began to train. Getting into races was not easy. Corruption and mistrust stood in the way. Jealousy around them is another obstacle. The documentary follows the two of them across years. Julius Arile and Robert Matanda appear in the eighty nine minute documentary.
