Hands of a Mother

Markus is an engineer of thirty nine. He lives with his wife Monika and their four year old son Adam. The family comes together aboard a ship. The gathering had been planned as a celebration. Adam goes to the bathroom with his grandmother. The grandmother is called Renate. The boy comes back with a small cut. That detail opens something in Markus. He remembers something about his own childhood. Until that moment he had never recalled it. What he remembers concerns his mother. Markus and Monika have to talk about it, and the film moves without going into detail, keeping the weight on the reckoning itself. Andreas Döhler and Jessica Schwarz appear in the hundred and six minute film, a German production Florian Eichinger finished in 2016.
