Harvard Beats Yale 29-29

The documentary is about a college football game played in 1968 and the people who were on the field for it. Footage of the game and what the players say years later are cut through each other. The account is not satisfied with the score; it also asks where the game sits in the turbulent college world of the sixties. Some of the young men on that field later became well known names, and the film uses that as a point of interest. That entirely different lives crossed inside the same game is the real matter. Remembering the game, the players also tell their own youth. The shape of a sports film turns here into an account of a period. Tommy Lee Jones, Brian Dowling and Frank Champi are among those speaking. Kevin Rafferty’s hundred and five minute American documentary was completed in 2008.
