In Romania in 1988, in the last years of communism, an inheritance of three million dollars comes into the hands of Andrei Florescu. But in that country holding even a single dollar can cost a person his freedom; spending the money is out of the question, and hiding the fact of it is work enough in itself. Andrei is watched by his sister and her party member husband, his girlfriend Ioana is an informant and a security officer is after him as well; even so the man chases an impossible dream. The film asks whether money, if it cannot buy happiness, can at least buy the freedom to choose unhappiness. In Jesús del Cerro’s hundred and sixteen minute Romanian film, Dragoș Bucur plays Andrei and Cristina Flutur plays Ioana. It opened on 17 November 2017.
