Heidi: Rescue of the Lynx

Eight year old Heidi lives with her grandfather in the Swiss Alps. One day in the forest she finds a lynx cub caught in a trap. She starts nursing the cub back to health in secret. At the same time she learns of a plan that threatens the forest, put together by a businessman after money. Heidi sets out with her closest friend Peter and the dog Joseph. What she wants is to protect both the lynx family and the place where they live. Along the way she gets her grandfather to speak openly to the village. In the end she understands that the cub belongs in the wild with his own family, just as she belongs in the mountains with her grandfather. Toby Schwarz’s animated film, a coproduction of five countries, was completed in 2025.
