What Her Fatal Ways Is About
Cheng Shih-Nan, an inspector from the mainland, travels to Hong Kong with her assistant and cousin to hand over a criminal. When the man escapes, the two of them have to stay in the city far longer than they expected. Shih-Nan, strict about her rules, is first astonished and then angered by the way her Hong Kong counterpart Inspector Wu lives; each side judges the other by its own measure. Chasing the fugitive together forces them to come to terms, and something else starts between them as well. Alfred Cheung’s hundred minute Hong Kong comedy turns the tension between the two sides before 1997 into humour; Carol Cheng and Tony Leung Ka-fai appear.
