What Hero Is About
The official FIFA film of the 1986 World Cup. Mexico had recently come through a devastating earthquake and still staged the tournament well, and Argentina, carried by Maradona, justified being the favourite. Moments from Maradona, Lineker, Platini, Socrates, Rummenigge, Hugo Sanchez and Laudrup follow one after another. Michael Caine narrates. Tony Maylam assembled it less as a highlights reel than as the memory of a tournament, with the stands and the city effectively part of the cast alongside the football.
