What HiGH&LOW The Movie 2: End of Sky Is About
Shigeaki Kubo's 2017 Japanese film is the second part of a series set in a world of gangs. The SWORD groups won the previous conflict; this time two harsher organisations want to take the territory. The film is built on its fights. The choreography is long and crowded; the narrative gives little room to character and keeps the groups' battle over territory going. The series was run together as a television show, films and music projects, and the cast is largely made up of singers. The images are stylised and the music used inside the narrative. Who it's for: those who follow Japanese action series. Who it's not for: viewers new to it; the film uses dozens of characters without introducing them.
