HIT: The Third Case

Arjun Sarkaar is a policeman working in the HIT unit. A series of murder files reaches the unit and there are links between them. Arjun begins to investigate. As the narrative proceeds it becomes clear that his methods are open to question; he does not control his anger and the violence he uses on suspects is not required by the work. Sailesh Kolanu writes and directs. Nani and Srinidhi Shetty take the leads. The photography is by Sanu John Varghese and the music by Mickey J. Meyer. It runs 157 minutes. The film is the third link in the HIT series; the first two came out in 2020 and 2022, and each film puts a different detective at the centre. It was made by Nani's own company Wall Poster Cinema together with Unanimous Productions, on a stated budget of 70 crore rupees. It opened on 1 May 2025 and took 120.58 crore rupees worldwide. What was argued about most is the amount of violence; the series became markedly harder here than in the first two films, and that choice stayed at the centre of the criticism. What the narrative wants to build is the policeman himself being the problem; the film says so and at the same time makes that violence a spectacle. Who it is for: viewers who like Telugu crime films and Nani. Who it is not for: the violence is explicit and continuous, the script is predictable, and the middle is heavy.
