What Home Is About

Frida is an elderly woman who has just lost her husband. She has a granddaughter but does not know her. The granddaughter is called Lou. The distance between them came from Frida’s daughter. Mother and daughter have not spoken for years. Frida now begins to get to know her granddaughter. Lou is withdrawn and has no friends. Then one more person comes into the house. He is a boy of ten. His name is Tom. Tom wants to stay away from home and from school. He is bullied in his class. So four people from three generations come together. Meanwhile Lou is drawn into a friendship. The man is a secondhand bookseller called Henrik. Moa Gammel and Anita Wall take the leads in Maximilian Hult’s Icelandic and Swedish coproduction of 2014.
