What Home at Seven Is About
A London bank clerk is home at seven every evening. One day he comes home exactly twenty-four hours late and remembers nothing of the day in between. In the same period a robbery and a murder have taken place, and because he has no account of himself he becomes the prime suspect. The tension comes not from pursuit but from the state of a man who cannot vouch for himself. Ralph Richardson both stars and directs; it is the only feature he ever directed. It is adapted from R. C. Sherriff’s play of 1950, in which Richardson had played the same part.
