Hope You Die Next Time :-)

Eszter is sixteen and secretly in love with her English teacher; Peter, in the same class, is hopelessly in love with Eszter. On the day the teacher announces he is leaving the school for London, Eszter gets a farewell message from him, and a correspondence begins online that nobody else can see. Given the difference in age and in position, what develops is not a relationship but abuse, in which the girl's consent carries no weight at all. Mihály Schwechtje films it without turning it into scandal material; what he is really watching is how everyone around them behaves once something comes out. The title comes from that: one of the sentences written to a teenager on the internet. Adolescence, adult responsibility and digital pile-ons all sit inside the same story, and the film does not offer an easy way out of it.
