Horn of Plenty

There is an unclaimed fortune that has been sitting for centuries in a British bank account. Bernadito Castiñeiras, a Cuban, and the people of the village of Yaragüey learn the money might fall to them. To get it, Bernadito has to prove he descends from the Castiñeiras nuns who first settled the region. But the village is small and poor, and a great many people carry the same surname. So a feud breaks out between the Castiñeiras and the Castiñeyras families. Relatives fall out with each other over a single letter. The film tells this as comedy while showing what money makes people do. Jorge Perugorría and Enrique Molina appear in Juan Carlos Tabío’s hundred and eight minute film, a joint Cuban and Spanish production, completed in 2008.
